Butch - Farewell

Butch settled down and became a regular runner at the club.

The usual running repairs were required to keep him in tip top order. These included the resealing of the axel pump, another 'crack' at getting the hand pump operating smoothly. 

I also decided to replace the ageing live steam injector when it started to become unreliable. This turned out to be more complex than anticipated because the piping needed to be reworked and a one way return valve fitting. 

The other 'perpetual' maintenance job is the constant touching up of the paint work and lining to keep him looking 'tip top'.

I finally made the decision to put Butch up for sale through www.littlelocomotives.com. It wasn't long before enquires came in. These culminated in a visit to the club by a perspective purchaser. 

A deal was struck and Butch was delivered to his new home 'down south' were he passed a 4 year hydraulic and 1 year steam test and is now settling in to his new club.
