Fred Dibnah's House Bolton April 2006

I've been a fan of Fred Dinhah for some time and have always enjoyed his television programmes. His enthusiasm for British engineering, his down to earth approach to life and his ability to describe thing in a way which made sense always appealed. 

Having moved from the Lincolnshire to the North West I was always aware that Fred lived somewhere quite close to us. It turned out that the local plumber I used knew where his house was so we decided to go and have a look.

The following are some snaps we took from the road. Although Fred had passed away a number of years prior to my visit his back garden look exactly as we'd seem it on the television. You almost expected to see him walk out of his back door and into his workshops at any moment.

I believe the house and contents we auctioned off in late 2007 and I've no idea what will become of this almost mini heritage centre.
