Live Steam Model
Engineering
Had I been born 20 years earlier I
think I would have ended up in some form of mechanical engineering. However, all
the local engineering companies were going through hard times when I was coming
out of school. Indeed, all have long since closed.
As a result, and to cut a long story short, I ended up in the software
engineering business instead. Whilst this is a great and satisfying career I
can't shake off the desire to build things out of 'bits of metal', as my wife
puts it.
Given I'm driven by desire and have no formal training in such skills, the
following pages chronicle my first few 'floundering' steps into the wonderful
world of live steam model engineering.
I hope you enjoy them, even though you are probably a TT buff to be on this
site in the first place.
